What we collect
- Technical data: aggregate, anonymised page-view counts and device categories via privacy-compliant analytics (Plausible, EU-hosted, no cookies, no cross-site tracking).
- Form data: only the information you choose to provide on the report-a-problem and contact forms. Used to respond to your enquiry; retained for the minimum period necessary.
- Cookies: a single, non-tracking cookie for theme preference. No advertising or analytics cookies.
Lawful basis
Processing is carried out under Article 6(1)(e) GDPR ("performance of a task in the public interest"), which is the appropriate basis for a State agency providing information services.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact dpo@bim.ie. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission.
Retention
Form-submission data is retained for 3 months and then deleted, unless required for a longer period to resolve your enquiry or to comply with a legal obligation.
